UPS

Man, I hate tech support sometimes.  Talked with UPS this morning because their WorldShip shipping software was not working.  It kept giving an error about the rate engine.  So I called and the guy walked me through his manual of dumb stuff to check out.  Then made me reinstall but the same problem occured.  He kept telling me I had a rights issue.  Both the users are administrators but one works and one does not.  In XP, its pretty hard to mess up — either Limited or Adminstrator.  He couldn’t tell me what resource the rights issue was on.  I kept messing around with it and finally got it to work.  I am not going to call them again.

Spring?

Snow here this morning, gone by 10am.  Gotta love Colorado.  So I skied at Eldora today.  Ice & some powder but not very “spring sking” — it was windy and cold but with no one else really out there, its a good time.

Got screwed at Talladega (or just ‘Dega as it known in the sport) today.  Went to the race last fall and they didn’t have a single yellow flag — every lap was green.  Today, 4 laps into it, Newman cuts a tire and takes out over 1/2 the field – a record.  That was what I wanted to see.  Oh well.  Gordon ran strong.  All the Hendrick cars did.  Guess the figured out why they blew all the engines there last year and improve.  But once again Junior wins.  4 straight there.  He pitted 17 freakin’ times.  Man, that is insane.  You don’t lose any laps pitting there so his car kept charging to the front.  Some day they will all figure out why that car is so much faster than everybody elses there.

We go to the doctor tomorrow to find out if our baby is upside down or not.

HIPAA or Hippo

Man, HIPAA is really keeping Orion busy.  All these last minute agreements coming in.  One today required that we hold a $3 million dollar insurance policy to guard against any breaches.  Yeah, right!  The insurance requirements alone will keep other states and players out of the benchmarking business it seems.  They may have to keep with just de-identified data and possibly only in aggregate which is virtually worthless.  We also keep adding more options to make everybody happy so we have all the bases covered.  Should be good to go on April 15th.

Birth class last night.  Got to take a tour of the rooms we will be living in for about 2-3 days.  Man, will we go crazy?  Baby stays in the room.  They have Jacuzzi tubs.  Kim gets a luxorious dinner menu.  Dad has to go to the cafeteria.  Man, screwed again.  Aren’t we there because of the Dad really anyway? 🙂

NASCAR admitted they screwed Gordon.  I can’t wait for playoff hockey!  GO AVS!

Been using this tool called Plaxo to keep my Outlook address book up to date.  Pretty nice.

I need to find out somebody who knows how to do XmR trending.  Uhhh…

Zelda came yesterday.  Another battle begins.  I am getting backlogged on games.  We need racing on the GameCube.  I want to see Mario Cart.  That was a household favorite.

Would you like fries with that gun?

In our next series of birth classes, we get to tour the delivery room area tonight.  Last week, we watched birth videos.  Frankly, they were near porno status because half the women were totally naked, not on pain block so they just were moaning the entire time, and lots of shots of places cameras don’t normally go.  I think it was sort of a hippee video from Boulder or something.  Back in the day, the man was required to sit in the waiting room — man, why do times have to change? 🙂
