I knew this would be a family favorite show. So about a year ago, tickets went on sale and I was there on time to order 5. We are all going.
This is the part where I act cool and say I saw Maroon 5 a long time ago before they went big time with all that publicity from The Voice. They were the openers. Adam was just some dude that sung real high notes. But hey. I still like the old stuff.
The girls were pretty excited to see the show. Sydney rated it as the #1 show she has seen. But then quickly said things like “oh, but Katy Perry’s stage was cooler”. I think the coolest show is the last one you saw in her mind. All good.
Reagan was in there too but she sat during the last few songs. Late night for a middle schooler.
Kayla was sick going into the show. She watched the opener intently. Tov Lo was her name. She had this shirt on that had zippers horizontally across her boobs. And there were big rings as zipper pull things. The shirt was skin color. So I guess if you imagined a bit, they were kinda like nipple piercings. Kayla explained to Kim and I that she didn’t think that shirt was appropriate because there were kids like her there. You can count on Kayla for funny insight. Then she bonked about 3 songs in on Maroon 5. Dead asleep in her chair from the sickness.
The set was OK. Kinda took them a few songs to get going. Like Adam’s voice was cold. Then ended the show with Let’s Go Crazy by Prince. Nice tribute. But they were gone with 10 minutes until curfew there. Weird. Waited a year and only got 90 minutes.
