Permalink Lizzy

On December 15th, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, a stray dog was found. No one claimed her. Somehow she gets carted up to Boulder County, Colorado and goes up for adoption about a month later. Somehow a family that has a Shepard-mix sees this dog and decides that this will be Ozzy's girlfriend. I was powerless.

Introducing Lizzy! She weighs in at 35 lbs. as opposed to Ozzy at over 50 lbs. She is smaller than he is but has just as much spunk in her and does not back down to his constant playfulness. We are in the middle of a prolonged snowstorm here so nothing but white to play in these days. Let's see how they get along!

Snow Dogs

Well, that looked good. But remember how I said she can hold her own? Well here was a shot of her telling him what she thought of his behavior at one point. You can see the look on his face perfectly. I figured he was just learning the definition of bitch here.

He likes to submit to her from time to time but he is the boss. She doesn't have as warm of a coat as he does but she still loves to romp in the deep snow with him.

Snow Dogs

All in all, it seems like a great match so far. Lizzy is a people dog. She cares more about humans than dogs it seems, which is the exact opposite of the boy. Lizzy sleeps on our bed. Ozzy sleeps in a corner on the floor by choice. And when I say she sleeps in the bed, she mostly has her head across my neck with her body curled up against me.

Snow Dogs

Seems like she belonged here from the moment she arrived.

The name? Another rock star! But our girl gets the I, for now.
