Bearly Made It
Me and the boy are starting to get out more. Winter is turning for me. Usually I try and hibernate until January 1st and then man up. But the weather has been a tad nicer lately so we opted for a Bear Peak summit today on the eve of the Xmas. It was so windy when we arrived that I could barely open the car door. Ugh. Should we really even do this? Pansy. I figured once we tucked into Fern Canyon all would be well. I just wasn't sure of how the saddle and higher would go. Turns out it wasn't terrible. You are always slightly on the north or east side of the peak and the wind was sort of coming out of the SW. So me and my buddy made the hike crossing path with few souls. It was nice. He did great on the climb and even better on the descent. Fun having a partner.
I can see Denver!
Who designed this crooked trail?
Will there be sticks at the top I can chew?
That's the summit. Phew!
Let's get out of here, Dad!
So yeah, I drug my camera along to practice making some pictures. The dog is an easy subject. Even on a windy day.
