That was fun.
After a lot of hard work, a team of 4 traveled to Baltimore this week for the NARCA convention to demonstrate what Local Counsel Collective has to offer. This was a big deal for us as it was the first time we went for national exposure after starting as a regional offering. We got a good reception and learned a bit. But mostly validated that we are on the right path.
I hadn’t done exhibit booth duty in a few years. The first night was like drinking from a fire hose with a gaggle of attorneys drinking at the open bar and visiting us with rapid fire questions. The next day was more normal where we sat around for hours in between opportunities to meet as the attorneys were in sessions. The booth ended up coming together wonderfully thanks to Angela’s planning and execution. It was nice to not have to deal with this aspect of the show as I had in my other endeavors.
But the real work started when the lights went off. Trying to make contacts outside of the show. Thursday night was the wilder night as we started at a dinner party for about 20 at around 9:00 PM. It was a 5 course pre-selected deal. Met some great folks at dinner and finally wrapped up and walked out of the restaurant at midnight after the final bite.
I was prepared to walk to the hotel and crash after the long day until somebody said something about an Irish pub and the crew quickly veered in that direction. The bar was packed after midnight…downtown…on a weeknight. Nice. We found our way in and before long drinks started coming to the table. Hence the realization that these attorneys come here to drink and party. And maybe make some contacts.
When in Baltimore…you do car bombs?
It was this vendor’s turn to buy. I thought buying 15 car bombs looked hilarious at the time.
The next day was sort of a haze as we got in around 3 AM and were up at 6 AM to host a run for the show. That turned into a long day on my feet at the show. Finally, we wrapped things up, ate some tacos and hit the sack. That’s it from Baltimore. Thanks to Angela, Steve, and Tracy Jo for coming out to support.

The next show is in Las Vegas. That shouldn’t be too insane? Ouch, my liver.
