Thoughts
Ran OK until Friday. But we woke up to a blizzard and with the kids getting a snow day, I slept in. Then shoveled. Then we had to get out of town to get up to Leadville for the weekend. So I took the off day. When we arrived, it was nicer up in the mountains then in the Front Range. That upslope snow doesn't get that far west. Unfortunately, the family has to trek to the house until I get the drive cleaned up.
3 weeks of snow accumulation. Takes about an hour to clean up with my John Deere beasty.
We invented a new way to tube in Colorado. We don't need lakes! We snow tubed right off the back of the ATVs right around the neighborhood. It even has the same dynamics where I could turn and the kids would "jump the wake", which basically meant they were in the ditches on the side of the road ramming into snow piles and jumping them.
Got a run in on Saturday. It was good to burn the lungs a little bit at 9 minute miles. It actually wasn't so bad. I feel like my body remembers how to do it even if we have been away for a while. But I opted for alternative exercise on Sunday with Sydney @ Cooper. The place was empty! I wish the Superbowl happened every Sunday. Syd is getting good. She rocked her new skis this weekend. I no longer have to wait for her. She keeps me moving. 2 more years and I won't be able to catch her.
Drove home at 6PM on Sunday night to a virtually empty I-70. Awesome.
So sort of a down week but that's fine. I had a great time anyway.
