Breakdown

Mon – 8.5M: Feeling a bit more rested and things are coming back together after the weekend slump.

Tue – 8.5M: Best run of the week. Just moving quick with no effort. Felt like my “good day” of the week just got spent on a training run.

Wed – 0M: Planned rest day. Just wanted to hit it mid-week so I could get running again pre-race.

Thu – 0M: Unplanned rest day. Life got in the way. Rain in the afternoon. Screw it. Extra rest better than 5-7 dumb miles.

Fri – 6.5M: Leadville. Usual run out to the lake. Great summer weather for running up here. Felt perfect.

Sat – 4M: Leadville. Just jogged around and watched the MTB race. Great way to spectate.

Sun – 50M: Leadville Silver Rush 50 Mile Trail Run. Decent finish but wasn’t myself.

I didn’t wear the strap for the race so I need to figure out an approximate average HR for the race and build that in. Not quite accurate but oh well. Just decided not to fuss with it all day even though its not usually a problem. At least my bra tan line is gone.

Thoughts

Day after 50. Feeling pretty good this morning. Stomach still lingers but legs are great. A cut on my foot and a sore Achilles on the right are all I can complain about. Taking today off just because then will get back to work tomorrow. Got lots of comments on my race post and spent good time posting comments on others.

5 weeks to go. The next race is the big one and final one of the year. For all the marbles. Feeling ready to get at it. Have some sharpening to do in the meantime.
