There was no doubt in my mind...

WS100

The Western States 100 has become the ultrarunning Superbowl, if we have such a thing. Its legendary. And with my finish at Leadville this year, I got myself a qualifier. However, lots of people want to run this race so there is a lottery to select the 369 runners. And a handful of those spots go to automatics, like last year's top 10. Nearly 1,700 people threw their names in last year so the odds of getting selected are less than 20%. I bet it will be even tougher this year but at least I tried.

Buckle

The lottery will not be held until December 4th -- while I am in California running the NF50. Cruel? Fitting? Not sure, but its going to be a big day. And 2011 could be the biggest year yet. More to come.
