Only going to be around for 1 Green up this week so I figured I would make it a bigger one. I liked that loop JV and I did the other day but I was bummed that I fubbed the watch. So why not do it over and not fuck it up. Parked at Chautauqua since that makes it a better circle. Went to Gregory and took a big dump. Did they think of me when they installed those toilets? Went steady up. Felt really good the whole time. Finally back to not wanting to stop or die on the climb and able to keep it in gear through every step to the stop. It wasn’t the fastest ascent of the month but it was solid. I just have to push it and I can PR this. Probably was my ankle. It hurts on the climbs now. Trying to do a better job of making sure I stay off my toes and try and put my heal on the ground a bit to stretch it out more.
Had the summit to myself but didn’t stay long. Made my way down the back and through Bear Canyon. Haven’t been through there more than 3 times or so. Don’t have that trail memorized at all. Full of twists. Easier following JV and his blue Keens the other day. No bears in Bear Canyon. I had my camera and all. Its a nice mix-up of different terrain back there. Plus you do a bit of climbing coming back around this way which I am not used to. Pretty much usually go up and down. And never have to climb again. I should commit to this route more often if I have the time.
I went 9.00 miles with an elevation gain of 2,719 feet in 01:43:09, which is an average pace of 11:27. View my GPS data on Garmin Connect.
