After the crappy day prior, I was itching to run hard today. Woke up and my Mac blew a video card. Damn it. Luckily I got an appointment at the Genius Bar in Boulder so figured I could spare a mountain run.
Felt like seeing if I could harden that front side PR. I did not heed the advice of the legends as I ran Amp pretty hard. Saw 6:3X on the clock at the top. I was dripping buckets of sweat. I power hiked many of the steeps. Then blasted the flats until I felt a heaving coming on. Pushed it as hard as I could and topped out with a new PR. Laid down on a rock and felt like I was going to puke or pass out. Neither happened. Couple minutes later I was descending and feeling great about this new time. Took it easy as my ankle was still tweaky.
Up: 38:22 (PR)
I went 4.84 miles with an elevation gain of 2,294 feet in 01:11:03, which is an average pace of 14:40. Heart rate average was 147. View my GPS data on Garmin Connect.
