Free 3.0s. Totally crappy day. I hate running after a rest day. But it was National Running Day or some shit so I had to be sure to log some miles to pay respect to the sport which has transformed aspects of my life.
Trying to get back into the swing of my regular massages but haven’t been good about it. Tried a new person today at the same place and she was definitely encouraging. Told her to focus on the legs and she did. She went up and down each of them for 30 minutes a piece. I had a few things that I knew were sore but she found a few others that were worse. I like that kind of feedback. IT bands were very tight. This is par for the course for me but they don’t cause any trouble. But I hate hearing people say this because when they do start to hurt its going to be a total “told you so” moment. Plus, stretching is bullshit and I don’t want to do it. Ever.
My rectus femoris on the right side was on fire and I didn’t know it. She rubbed it down hard. The first few times I was screaming like a baby. But after enough release, it finally calmed down. My calves were also pretty sensitive today. Likely from the VFFs and/or big climbing this past weekend. She made me work at relaxing my muscles during the session which I am terrible at. I get all stiff. All in all, felt great to get the feedback and left there feeling like I got something out of that session.
I went 9.09 miles with an elevation gain of 123 feet in 01:16:05, which is an average pace of 08:22. Heart rate average was 127. View my GPS data on Garmin Connect.
