I Am On A Boat

A Day in the LifeLeave a Comment

When the kids said they wanted to go whale watching, I could only think of one thing — I am getting my Boat Badge because I am on a boat, motherfucker.

If you don’t know what “I am on a boat” means AND why foursquare is awesome, then 2 strikes…please go about your business elsewhere.

Diamond Head is off to our left. There is Koko Crater down in the middle with Hanauma Bay to the right. Wanted someone to ask me about it so I could tell them — yeah, I ran down there and back the other day — but nobody cared.

The whales weren’t visible so that sucked. Nature has its own schedule. But we literally were attacked by a 200+ count pod of dolphins. Everybody has seen a dolphin but when they are in the wild and playing a game of chicken with your boat, its pretty cool. If only T-Pain could have been there…

Luckily, those dolphins fit the bill and made the ladies happy.

Tried to enjoy being out on the water. The boat was big so it wasn’t too bouncy. But I had enough boat time. Let’s get back to the beach.

Later that day on the beach, I fell asleep. Never napped the whole trip. Was always up by 6-ish for that run and last one to bed after doing computer stuff. If I don’t leave a vacation exhausted, then I didn’t do my job — or run hard enough.

As we packed it in for the day and the week, I took one last photo of the beach and the mountain — Diamond Head. We made a connection this week. She isn’t big. She isn’t hard. But she’s pretty and she is right on the beach waiting for you to run up and get a good view of Hawaii. That appealed to me.
