Run: Green Mountain (5.49 mi)My sister is coming to town today. There is a 4-5 day forecast of snow. That means we will be doing some skiing. So I figured I better get Green in this morning in advance of all of that because I don’t know how the schedule will play out. I woke up slightly less excited about this decision given the beer I drank last night. But I stuck to the plan!
Arrived at the trail head to see Jocelyn just finishing up her run. We chatted briefly as I was curious about the temps up top. Mr. Jocelyn was cruising on down the road solo to finish his daily 2 hours I assumed.
I started out slow with no intention of running the harder sections today. I was resigned to take an easy day. I used to not understand when JV would say he had an easy day on Green because Green was always hard. But now, I seem to have developed a range of speed on this mountain so I was going to use the low end of it today. Plus, I still want to continue to build my power hike abilities because I will be doing that during my upcoming ultra season (more than I would like). I was +2 minutes to the lodge. I was +3 minutes to the 4-way. Hit the summit and was all alone. I had brought my iPhone for tunes because I forgot my iPod at home. So I decided to setup a Gowalla spot for Green Mountain and then shoot some live streaming video from the summit.
Cruised back down in 28-ish. Hope to be back with Natalee. Maybe on Friday.
I went 5.49 miles with an elevation gain of 2,287 feet in 01:19:11, which is an average pace of 14:25. View my GPS data on Garmin Connect.
