The Return of BrownieBrownie traveled up from the Springs to see the JBT at the Fox in Boulder. There wasn’t going to be enough head banging for me at that show so I opted to pre-party with him and his posse on The Hill. Being the “local”, I had to nominate the meeting place. Being I am not a college student, I don’t spend a lot of time in that area but I found good things about The Sink so we met there. And being that Brownie is an official judge in my Burger Wars, it seemed like an appropriate venue to try what’s known as “The Sink Burger”.
We both had one and agreed it was no King Chef. But the place had PBR of tap and that counts for a lot. Plus, tons of cool cartoon-ish art all over the walls. Low ceilings. Noisy venue. Great bar. I hope to return.
The table had old Boulder newspapers laminated into them. You could rent off Baseline for $10 a month and buy a case of beer for $2. This ad has some classic text:
Scenes such as the one pictured at the right are a few minutes’ drive from the main business district of the city of Boulder. Picturesque picnic and camping spots are also commonplace within a few miles of the city. Tivoli beer fits into the pictures and is found always in the best of company. So on your trips take along a case of Tivoli. It makes any meal a banquet, and adds to the “comradeship” of the occasion. As sure as you will like the great outdoors…you will like Tivoli.
Well, we didn’t find any Tivoli on tap but we did build our comradeship over some other brews while we discussed everything running and why we are bound to dominate this season!
