Permalink Run: Steady 8M (8.73 mi @ 07:04)

Kids were off school and I had to watch them this morning while Kim went to parent-teacher conferences. So it threw off my usual morning outing but that was a good thing. Got more work done and had to book more travel reservations. Putting together a technical presentation for work on Tuesday. Ignite Boulder inspired me to tweak my slides a bit and add more fun into them. I also changed my title around. Now the working title is something like “How Warehouse Club Shopping Principles Can Fix Web Application Performance”.

Finally got out the door around 3PM. I was dreading being cold but quickly got my body temp up and was just fine in my bubble. Debated skipping this tempo run today but said why not and pushed up the pace in the first mile. HR jumped up and sat right in the high spot of my steady range (148-156). Still trying to figure out my LT by feel but I know its somewhere higher than this for sure now. Saw mid 150s on the watch most of the run which was good. Each mile got easier. Blasted the last mile and continued another 3/4 till home. Great run. Solid. Nothing hurts. Domination.

I replaced the calories burnt by meeting up with JV and Allison along with Kim and Kayla at Ted’s Montana Grill. We feasted on their Bison Burgers as part of the ongoing burger research. Its a tough call to say where that one fits in. More of a up scale sit down place vs. a “eat on your tray” kind of place but the bison was terrific. Great texture. We topped it off with some dessert and that put JV over the top — he demanded 2 laps on Green tomorrow to burn off this gluttony. Sold.

I went 8.73 miles with an elevation gain of 167 feet in 01:01:42, which is an average pace of 07:04. View my GPS data on Garmin Connect.
