Permalink Run: Union Reservoir (8.58 mi @ 07:29)

Perfect temp for hard running with zero sweat production. I was shirtless coming around the reservoir and this couple was walking in hat, gloves and The North Face down jackets. It isn’t that cold, folks. Held steady pace the whole time even though I sort of wanted an easy/slow day. Another solid run in this range. It is getting easier — more effortless.

I was all prepared to write a weekly training summary post when I realized — I don’t have to…I am not training, yet. But I like keeping track of weekly miles still so I can stay confident that I am not losing fitness during this downtime. My weight is holding right now as well. Maybe still losing. So excited to be dropping into the 130s soon. That will be a big win.

So 61.8 miles for the week. Not too shabby. Time on my feet was higher than average because of 3 mountain outings. That also accounts for being under 70 miles — which was my goal. I probably would have been 75 or more if they all would have been street miles. Oh well. The legs will show the benefit for the mountain runs soon.

Big race next Saturday. Looking forward to it! Last of the season. I swear. Unless something comes up.

I went 8.58 miles with an elevation gain of 339 feet in 01:04:16, which is an average pace of 07:29. View my GPS data.
