Walk: Corn Maze (0.52 mi)No rest for the weary! I got back out there today and put in a solid 1/2 mile. Well, not really. I promised the kids that we would go to the pumpkin patch. It was too busy yesterday and they were off school today so we went over lunch to skip the crowds. I always want to bring my running stuff and see how fast I can complete this 5+ mile challenge. However, today with 2 kids walking and 1 in a stroller, it wasn’t a speed record.
We only got through 1 of the 3 mazes before they wanted to move on to other activities. And you don’t walk every single inch of it because there are loops that you can bypass if you can read a map. I have some dream of running it and seeing if the GPS route draws the picture. So here is today’s route.
Here is the aerial view. Close, huh? Not.
Got a massage this morning. My usual dude is in China getting married so I went to his associate. At one point, I was face down and she climbed up on the table on top of me. Then she put her knees into my hammies and pressed. It actually felt deep and great. However, I realized that when I got home I would have to explain to Kim that I just had a woman on top of me while we were locked in a private room. Nice.
Registered for Boston this morning. $130 bucks. Says it takes up to 6 weeks for confirmation to come through. Probably not that long though. In the meantime, we are working on travel plans. I have heard a few “I might go, when is it?” comments. Hey, its a party! I am going to concentrate on running and enjoying it. Feeling like I need to set a marathon PR there because it is at sea level and it is BOSTON.
Other than that I really didn’t think much about the run today at all. Not skipping around telling everyone how awesome I am. Not sore — just some hip tightness which I usually get after anything hard. Just a normal day. The end of a journey. Had fun going through the comments and doing a little analysis on the splits. Frankly, starting to think about other goals and challenges to round out the year now that the monkey is off my back. My biggest fear is doing what I did last year — not running hard a single time after Denver until January 1st. I think I ran 50 miles over November or December last year. At minimum, I will be back to that as weekly mileage next week. That should keep me from another 15 pound winter weight gain. After Denver, I weighed myself when I got home and I was 141. If I can hold that range over the winter, I will surely shed again when I get back to big miles and finally feel like my BMI is where it needs to be. Another 10 pounds and I will be moving! But no excuses and no complaints. Just keep it going.
Race photos went up tonight — what’s the deal with $35 per digital image. Such a rip. Give us bloggers a cheap way to get a bunch so we can dress up our blogs and I bet we buy them. I am not looking for a package with 8x10s and 5x7s for $100. Anyway, here is the link. Tired of fighting their copyrights.
I went 0.52 miles with an elevation gain of 154 feet in 00:44:24, which is an average pace of 85:10. View my GPS data.
