Permalink Run: Slow 7M (7.58 mi)

After Green last night and with taper week, I am putting the weekly Sanitas Wednesday mornings on hold till Denver is over. Then I will be out to break 20!

Training plans aligned today give me a slow short run today. Only an hour! How nice it felt to see that on the plan. But I felt tight the whole time. Especially in the gut. I ate some eggs with Reagan for breakfast and that fucked me up somehow. I don’t know. I cooked them! Knee was sore to start and loosened up. I don’t think its going to be a problem but it is a bit creaky. Held slow pace for all of it but got to marathon pace during some downhill sections. Started thinking about having to run that for 3 hours and 15 minutes. Part of me thinks “oh shit” and another part says “no big deal”. I feel like I have the breathing/oxygen to run at that pace with no issues. Its a nice slow breathing pattern for me. I probably feel more build-up in my legs, but they are still tired so with some rest. The plan might just come together.

JV and I were talking about blogging runs last night. I find myself getting back to daily blogs. I stopped for a while because I figured nobody cared. But I know there are a few that do plus one important person does — me! It is my record. My training log. My blog. So if I feel like it, I write it up so I can find it later. I probably search my own blog more times a week than anything. When did I do that? What was my PR? What route did we take? Posterity.

Plus, if I blog my runs early enough in the day, that will cut down on GZ having to stare out the window all day looking for the Bat Signal.

I went 7.58 miles with an elevation gain of 344 feet in 01:01:40, which is an average pace of 08:08. View my GPS data.
