After Mount Evans, we decided to continue our annual tradition of getting out of town for the rest of the weekend. So we once again headed out to Glenwood Springs. This is our 3rd summer in a row visiting this mountain town. We hit the hot springs pool the first day and finished up the evening with a lavish dinner. Everyone crashed hard that night since we had been awake since 4:30 AM for the race. Here is my obligatory panoramic shot of the city from up high. If you click through, the bigger image is cooler.
The next day, we headed the the kid’s favorite spot: Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. This is an amusement park built around a set of caves. The caves are really the attraction but once you have seen them — you have seen them. So the kids got there wristbands on and spent the day running from ride to ride to ride. Usually, it is super hot and the lines are long. However, today, the lines were short and the weather was sunny, yet cool. A great day to spend at the park! The big hit there is always the alpine coaster. Lost track of how many times we rode it!
Coming in 2nd was the maze. The kids did it over and over and over. Sydney’s best time was 6 minutes. I tried it once myself and got 4 minutes.
However, Peep found a new favorite thing! Why does she have that waist belt on? You will have to watch the video to find out.
Check out the live action!
Only one more small vacation to go with only the 2 little girls!
Then the 3rd one is going to pop out and join us for the fun!
