Permalink Run: Mount Sanitas (2.77 mi)

Today’s plan called for a Slow 7M. But I had to run to Cisco’s office in Boulder for IT recycling day so why not run some hills. Green Mountain has a ton of snow from the looks of it. So I settled on Sanitas. Why not? I am sort thinking I need to taper for Saturday. Maybe just tomorrow and Friday. So a good benchmark up Sanitas sounded about right. Last time I was 26 up and 20 down. What will today bring? It has been about 1.5 months since I have attempted. Ready?

So I pulled a good minute off of both times. Thought I was going to get more until the end and the trail just didn’t end. Still a lot of power hiking vs. running. I also did a better job of taking the start easier. But I still was mostly limited by lungs and heart. Could feel my heart pounding out of my chest at one point.

On the downhill, I just need to speed up at the start of the descent. It isn’t really something you run. They are rocks you navigate. That burns a lot of the time. Did 6’s the whole way down after I got out of that.

Good morale booster. This run seems to be my only non-race benchmark I am tracking.

I went 2.77 miles with an elevation gain of 1250 feet in 40 minutes, which is a moving pace of 14:44. View my full GPS data.
