Huntington Beach

A Day in the Life3 Comments

Its been so long since I’ve seen the ocean…I guess I shouldCounting Crows

So some combination of wanting to get the kids back to Disney and those lyrics from our Counting Crows concert a few months back inspired this trip. So we did the Disney part. Now it was time to fulfill the second part of the charter. So we got in the car and drove a quick 10 miles down to the beach to get a breath of ocean air.

The kids were in their element. They ran like two wild dogs all over the beach until they could run no more!

It was fun to get back to semi-live blogging a vacation once again. For the last few, I just did it when I got back home and it lost a lot of the flavor. I made a point of getting it done every day but not rushing the post so I was sure to capture some of the fun. I hope the kids will enjoy reading these years from now. I also hope that friends and family enjoyed our adventure — even if none of you commented along the way. What’s with that? I am working for YOU here and I can’t get any love in return. Guess you aren’t into family events. I will get back to me geeking out, running, and ranting on Monday! I feel inspired.

So while Disney delivered the magic as always, it was good to know that a little old fashioned beach time still can deliver a great time as well. Thanks for the fun, California. You know we love you — second best. Thanks to my kids for being wonderful troopers on this trip. I couldn’t imagine kids going 12+ hours a day and then going out to a sit down dinner but these kids nailed it. They continue to amaze me. And thanks to my wife, Kim, for another wonderful adventure. Back to the song…

If you think that I could be forgiven, I wish you would. Nah na na, Nah na na…yeahCounting Crows
