NIN: With TeethFinally! I have been waiting years to see Nine Inch Nails in concert. For whatever reason, we just never hooked up in the same city at the same time. But now I have — after NIN visited the Mile High city tonight!
I showed up early and they had two terrible opening acts. I didn’t like either at all and the crowd wasn’t into them that much either. The good news was that everyone came in late so I walked right up to the front row against the fence and held on for the rest of the night. My favorite spot!
This show had lots of “mosts”: 1) I saw the most people ever get pulled out off the front by security. Several people were nearly passed out. 2) NIN has the most bass I had ever heard in my life. I was standing right in front of a tower so that didn’t help but it was fucking loud. You could feel your heart thinking about beating differently because there was so much air moving. 3) This was one of the most angry shows performance wise I have seen. I think Trent broke the mic after every song. And the crowd — we broke the damn barrier! Here is a shot of the dude fixing it during the show.

I was just over on the left side of the stage.

Trent solo on keyboards.

This was cool. They lowered the light rack right down over the performers heads. It looked like some techno club on stage.

NIN has such a thick set of great songs. Good show. No encore. They played and left. Trent really didn’t say too much either. “Thanks” — a couple of times. That’s fine. Can’t wait to see them again next time!
Oh, and my contract is about up so I can’t wait to get a new camera phone that doesn’t blow.
