Permalink No More Matrix

I had to come out to California again this week for work. When I came out once earlier in the year, the trip was at the same time the 2nd Matrix movie came out. So I took the team out to see it. Now, once again on this trip, another Matrix movie is released. So we went tonight. This is a large feat — you realize every geek in the world has already seen this movie and I made these guys wait a whole 72 hours or so before seeing the movie. I think they were ashamed to be the last ones in Silicon Valley to see it.

As for the Matrix, the first one was a really good movie of course. The next two just didn’t do it for me. Sure, they were better than 1/2 the crap that comes to the screen but they didn’t blow me away. The first movie set a pretty high bar as it explained the Matrix and introduced the effects and such. The last two movies were just playing out the rest of the story with no big fundamental changes.

Oh well, sequels that are better than the original are very rare anyway.

True, but the effects were incredible.
They even beat out Industrial Light and Magic at creating Virtual Cinema, something George Lucas kept saying they were on the verge of creating.
Plus, once we get all three on DVD, we'll be able to watch them back to back to back and appreciate them even more.

P.S. Cool site.
