Today, 9-11, I ran across this article which mixed in one of my favorite topics of late: HOAs (that is home owners association for all you apartment dwellers).
So my HOA is up to its ears in a legal battle with our developer but at the same time our neighboring community's HOA hates us. And they are "all powerful" or so they believe. Let me explain. We have one road that connects our 2 neighborhoods within the community and this week they put 3 speed bumps on it to deter us from going down the road. They never come our way on the road, but we always go their direction. Earlier, they sent us a memo that told us that we didn't have permission (I believe that was the word) to use their roads for recreation, travel, etc. Huh? The county owns the roads, my friend. So now I need to find out who at the county's public works office I can call and complain to about the new speed bumps. I wanna see if I can get them torn up just to piss them off. I don't think anybody, even the almighty HOA, can just lay down a speed bump. If I go over to the highway by my house and start pouring concrete, I think someobdy would be interested.
Oh well, the H2 doesn't mind the speed bumps -- its built for them and much more! So I will continue to use the road. Oh, and what's with these new speed bumps on an angle...as if normal straight speed bumps weren't annoying enough.
